Bringing people together, to think about what’s important to us, is high on the agenda this year! Many of us are talking about… Stronger resilient communities… Leading the way together…An exciting future…

Make A Change Australia is ready to GO! Hosting Greater Bendigo’s Curriculum for Change – a series of discussions and events throughout 2017, underlining how each and everyone of us, can play a part in creating the future we want.

This is an all inclusive program:
“Together we’ll celebrate who we are and explore what we want. Working out how we might do it and connecting with what’s already being done.”
Program Organiser Karen Corr, of Make a Change.

The program will cover some big topics such as:

  • Building stronger connections and looking out for each other
  • Creating active healthy neighbourhoods, connecting with our environment
  • Gearing up for the future and a changing economy

Local organisations: Golden City Support Services; North Central Catchment Management Authority; La Trobe University; CFA; Bendigo Health, with The City of Greater Bendigo are supporting the program. Encouraging Community wide discussions from kitchen tables to conference rooms!

Rob Stephenson of La Trobe University says “Bendigo as a whole is on a trajectory to success and La Trobe University is proud to be playing a key role in this. We also know that participation at all levels and including others on the journey is critical to this success. That’s why we are so pleased to be a major supporter of the Curriculum as it provides the opportunity for people to get involved and be a part of making this City great.”

“In working with our natural resources in central Victoria, we have seen many times how bringing passionate people together can create positive change.”
says North Central Catchment Management Authority CEO Brad Drust. “We’re excited about the opportunities that the Curriculum for Change will create to connect Greater Bendigo’s residents with its land, water and biodiversity resources.”

Over the next 6 months, all locals and organisations from the Greater Bendigo region are invited to participate in any way that’s comfortable – online, via email, coming along to special events for a cuppa and good discussion, or even running a special event, as part of this program.

Whether thinking about these topics for the first time or being actively involved for many years, the Curriculum provides a great opportunity to introduce new ideas, expand existing initiatives, create new outcomes and collaborations, for the benefit of our whole community.
