We understand the importance of mentoring and we act as their guiding force. They are definitely many benefits that a startup can derive from having a business mentor onboard. We are also trying to do this 10/10 program. You can have a look at Mentor Services

Comment on Weather and climate – tell us what you reckon! by Jason https://www.makeachange.org.au/weather-and-climate-tell-us-what-you-reckon/#comment-1133 Mon, 15 Apr 2019 23:42:20 +0000 https://www.makeachange.org.au/?p=3016#comment-1133 In context of modern engineering, historical weather information and accuracy of weather and conditions that we monitor: I’m not actually concerned about climate change, I’m more concerned about our focus on demonizing of CO2 for tax purposes while we continue to contaminate our land and water supplies through poor methods of waste disposal. We seem very poorly focused on what will actually have the biggest impact on future generations.

Both are the effects of unsustainable consumption globally.

I’m a member of the Latrobe Alumni Committee Bendigo Chapter. I’m also the Association Secretary for the Long Gully Community Centre Inc. I’m working with the City of Greater Bendigo Council on some ideas relating to customised mentoring of community groups on governance issues.Your project sounds like something with which I would like to be involved.

Comment on What Do You Reckon Redan? by Bill Clark https://www.makeachange.org.au/wdyr-redan/#comment-472 Sat, 07 Jul 2018 02:10:10 +0000 https://www.makeachange.org.au/?p=1943#comment-472 I’ve flown kites at the old equestrian centre, now named M R Power Reserve, but I don’t think any one else uses it except the fenced portion for dog walkers. It’s been cleaned up a bit recently with all the old horse stuff removed. It would be a great site for a community picnic or games area. Of course it’s more geographically part of Sebastopol area, but surely that doesn’t stop Redan for claiming it as a great part of Redan too. Bill

Most blocks have at least one laneway entrance, & most are indistinguishable from driveways. People driving out of driveways must give way to pedestrians. But too many people are driving fast out of the laneways without looking. Worse, I’ve seen cars turn into the laneways expecting people on the footpath to stop for them, & also driving straight at anyone potentially exiting the laneway. This is a worsening problem, as more houses are being built at the back of blocks using the laneways for access.

The change I want to see happen in 2018 is an increase in the number of people who know about and understand Australia’s Slave History. I have been learning about this though my art practice and have established connections with the descents of the South Sea Islanders who were bought to Australia on Tall Ships between 1843-1908. I am planning an Art Exhibition with an Aboriginal Elder who is also a descendant of slavery and would like any ideas of how to get this knowledge into mainstream conversation and education to honour those who were affected and their families.

In combination with this, more options for support at home and broader innovative facilities built in the region that live the person centred approach. I’d love to see a vibrant community that allows the creative expression that happens with the physical and behavioural changes associated with it’s progression, more understanding, and holistic alternatives to support this without the overuse of pharmaceuticals. I’d put in the same wish bubble a cure, endless hugs, and oodles of love for families and those living with dementia.
